Things to cover at 11-18 Meeting PDF Print E-mail

Things to cover at 11/18 Meeting:

·         Website feedback/voting on issues that Kevin brings up.  Be aware that we want to have 2 separate sections of the site, for member business and what we want to portray to visitors and FIRST judges.  Both things need not be on the same page.

·         Decide whether everybody wants to go to Poly like we did last week (there are going to be different workshops, not a repeat like the awards last week) or if some want to go but some want to have a meeting at Xaverian.

·         Reminder:  We’re doing the Freshman Assembly on Monday 11/23, right?  When are we going to do final prep on the robot, are we using 2 robots, who is going to speak, who is going to say what?

·         Make sure everyone present today is registered as a user on the xhsrobotics.net/member forums.  Kevin should be able to do it right then and there.

·         Please keep working on X-Press article and the in depth sponsor info booklet.

·         Keep written record of all the fundraising/PR stuff that gets discussed today.

·         If mechanical/electrical people want to start sketching a cart or different sub-system prototypes to eventually be modeled in SolidWorks, go ahead.

Our friends on team 1880 (some of whom were on our team at the Poly workshops in case you forgot)  are having a t-shirt drive.  I think it would be nice if we could get together a bunch of shirts (including a Brooklyn Blacksmiths t-shirt) to donate.

Here is the second game hint that was just released:

Take your machine out of the shop on Colorado in Paramount;
stop by and get connected on Central in Phoenix;
drive by and make a pickup on Minnetonka in Minnetonka;
then head to the field on Evergreen in Dover.

Head to the forum to discuss.

First off, thanks to everyone who has weighed in about the game hint on our forum. Keep it up and stay current with the Chief Delphi thread. (The people there are just as in the dark as us but there have been some interesting ideas posted there.)

More importantly, the 09 Control System has come in. The assembly started today and will continue on Sunday. It is extremely important that you make every effort possible to be there as putting something together usually helps you understand how it works. I don't want to speak for everyone but I don't think that any of us know everytihng there is to know about the system.

By now, everyone should know what the new system is and its basic components. I will stress again that it is EXTREMELY important for everyone to gain an understading of how it works, especially members who are used to the old system.

Game Hint #1 PDF Print E-mail

Hello team!

Old members know this but for the benefit of our freshmen, FIRST releases game hints prior to the kickoff each year that are meant to give teams ideas as to what the year's game will be. They usually aren't too helpful although last year, we received a series of hints that revealed a significant portion of the game.

Based on the rediculousness of this hint, I'm guessing that they will be releasing more in the coming weeks. Here is the first hint:

Also, here is the Chief Delphi forum thread with discussion:

http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70345

 All members are expected to stay up to date with hint releases. Don't go crazy reading reading the 1,000+ posts that will soon be on CD but try to keep up with the current speculation.

 Feel free to discuss it in our team forum as well. Hint, hint.
